I have an addition to the list: instead of beeswax in recipes for natural bath & body stuff, such as the un-petroleum jelly (aka Vaseline substitute), use candelilla or carnauba wax, they are from plants. I make at home and sell many vegan products on my website at http://www.gotwick.com

Great information I have printed this out and plan on going to my supplements store when I have more money, I'm feeling very isolated at the moment do to my avoidance brought on by panic disorder and wish there was a support group here in town but there isn't. I can control my food intake so decided that I'm going to cut out sugars, chocolate, and green tea again. There is a tea called Rooibos which some might want to look up, it's very good for you.
Thanks for this.

What about: tofu scramble, faux meats (sausage, canadian bacon, tempeh bacon), and black beans for a Mexican style breakfast!

Re: From a Vegan Point of View by Holly StrohlBy GoinVegan on August 15th, 2009 | Comments Off
Wow, you sound like me. When I became vegetarian at age 16 my mother's glib comment was, "If you don't eat meat you'll die." Here I am in my 30's, married with a kid, and it still bothers her! I am loads healthier than she is. My husband says unless it becomes illegal he will continue to eat cows (and chickens and turkeys).
The 4 of us just went out to a chain restaurant 2 nights ago…My mother is convinced the server and manager will run away if they see me come in again.
Being a vegetarian was a piece of cake, I thought omitting factory farm eggs and cow milk would be too. Boy, was I wrong! -
Re: Vegetarian but overweight – why?By muzlin on August 5th, 2009 | Comments Off
"Carbohydrate" is such a broad category, and there is so much confusion about carbs – they're everywhere!
Really, I think it is so important to differentiate betwen refined carbs and complex carbs. There is a difference between a carrot and a slice of wonderbread.

Thanks for the great article.
I have been suffering from chronic anxiety for many years.
It has been a long struggle for me. One of my main problems is finding quality resources about anxiety.
This site is a real gem. Another bit of advice I could give is if you think you have anxiety related problems make sure you go to your doctor.
Dont wait! It is very manageable if you get help early. -
Re: Am I lacking iron? by Anai RhoadsBy readsleepdie on July 7th, 2009 | Comments Off
I would include Adzuki beans on your list! They are extremely high in iron, and a common food for young women, and other women on their periods. The softness of the bean, and the iron content, helps relieve period cramps, and restores your vitality.
