An energy bar is always good to carry around. Raw Revolution Organic Live Food Bars are tasty and very filling with 200-250 calories per bar. In the rare pinch when I've missed a meal time they've kept me going. A bag of mixed dried fruit and nuts are also easy and portable. I keep baggies of almonds and dried cranberries that I can grab on my way out the door or carry with me to bust out when I'm hungry and low on energy. Having something tasty and vegan ready on hand helped keep me away from carb-heavy vending machines and fast food stops on campus. For a really sustaining breakfast try plain soy yogurt with ground flaxseeds and muesli.
