Isn’t this cruel? How does the cat equalize its ears since the air pressure in the bubble still exerts pressure on the ears that will cause pain if not a rupture if taken deep enough.
no need to at that depth…
also cat may have larger, straigter Eustachian tubes which would not require manual middle-ear pressures normalization (it would be “automatic”, even some human don’t have to do that… )
Dude…It’s a pool, not the ocean. Besides, wouldn’t the cat have squirmed around and meowed if it actually was in pain? And if it got hurt during the first dive, it would never have let its owner put that suit on it again. You can’t make a cat do something it doesn’t want to.
i would think that if the cat had a bad experience with the scuba diving, she would meow and scratch and generally complain the next time they tried to put her in the suit. considering she doesn’t, i don’t see any reason to think she actually minds it all that much
Oh yea cruelty to anamals is bad but torturing another human being is cool? Did daddy take you in the basement too many times as a child? Well anyone with the name Tater in his handel has issues to deal with from childhood……
Forget the scuba suit, if it was really so traumatizing for the cat, I’d imagine he would want to avoid the pool altogether, but we’re seeing nothing but the opposite of that–this cat likes to swim, people!
Of course, it’s perfectly common for we as a race tend to have a negative first reaction when faced with something out of the ordinary.
The point’s been made- the cat is clearly enjoying the water if it swims on the surface and such without any fuss (maybe the cat’s crazy, but they’re all crazy in some, often adorable, ways). I admittedly thought it possibly cruel at first, when I saw the commercials recently, but also looked into it and relaxed, and found the story very cute.
Apparently the cat absolutely loves it. Also it’s a treatment for it’s joint problems. I guess you don’t really know what anyone else is thinking (human or animal) Unless you are them. It’s pretty foolish to think otherwise!

i think the cat is stoned off of too much oxygen.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen! And yet I love it… I don’t care how much that cat likes water, this seems to be pushing the limits.
June 21st, 2009 at 05:35
I cant’ tell you how cruel this seems to be to me. I’m sure I’ll be flamed, but I want to water board the cat’s owner.
Funny? No. Cool? No. This guy needs punched in the throat.
June 21st, 2009 at 09:34
Funny? YES! Cool? YES! Completly fucking awesome? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! Cruel? HELL NO!
If you don’t like it that’s fine, but threats of torture and throat punching are unnecessary, douche.
