This version really shows how well she’s developed as a vocalist and songwriter! I mean, she was only 17 when she first recorded it, and this version is so much more powerful, and really shows how much she’s matured and worked hard to create excellent music! But this version has replaced the old version as one of my favorites! Essentially, it’s the same song, but this version just makes a good song even better!

this sounds a little more optimistic but moon pix has a very dazed/spiritual feel to it which makes it beautiful than this one. nevertheless i like it!

I really like Cat Power but I don’t like this version and I especially hate that you can hear the effects of smoking in her voice in this one.

This song makes me cry no matter how many times I listen to it…I love Cat, saw her live several times in the early days…She’s really come into herself, a fantastic performer & artist. Love you Chan!

did rachel yamagata mold her style after chan marshall? i listened to rachel first, and i love her, but after finding out about chan marshall, i see a lot of similarities between the two. even the way they enunciate. the way they move their lips and the facial expressions they make while singing are too alike.
